Credit Island is a 450-acre community park on the Mississippi River. The island’s name is derived from earlier times when it was a fur trading post. Credit Island is on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties. 

Visitors can fish, bike, and bird watch at the island. Credit Island is an important migration spot for birds. The island is home to the Pileated Woodpecker, and Bald Eagles frequent the area in the winter months. 

The park has a variety of various sports facilities including Baseball Diamonds, Basketball Courts, and Tennis Courts. The entrance to the island is on the Iowa side of the river at West River Drive. 

The Village of East Davenport is a historic area in Davenport, Iowa that is now an entertainment and shopping destination. The area is rich in history. The neighborhood buildings are mostly from 1848 to 1910. In 1980, the village was added to the National Registry of Historic Places. 

They have several wineries and bars such as Baked Beer & Bread Company, Wide River Winery, and The 11th Street Precinct Bar & Grill. The Village of East Davenport and Gilda’s Club host an Annual Wine Walk in the village with participating businesses. 

The Village of East Davenport also boasts Lindsay Park, a 31-acre community park on the Mississippi River. The park has a playground and two baseball diamonds. 

Augustana College is a private liberal arts college in Rock Island, Illinois. Established in 1860, the Lutheran college has 90 majors and areas of study. 

The gorgeous 115-acre campus is home to Old Main, a historic academic building that is on the National Register of Historic Places. Underclassman live on-campus, and seniors can live on-campus or in the neighborhood. 

Located on campus, Fryxell Geology Museum has an impressive collection of rocks, minerals, and fossils. One of the must-see exhibits is the complete skeleton of the carnivorous Cryolophosaurus. 

Augustana Vikings have 25 varsity athletic teams and currently compete in NCAA Division III.
