Niabi Zoo houses over 600 animals on a 40 acres facility in Coal Valley, IL. The zoo is dedicated to education and conservation. The facility was founded as a private zoo in 1959. The newest additions to the zoo are two monkeys, a Wolf’s Guenon and Allen’s Swamp Monkey.
The zoo houses several endangered species and critically endangered species. You can support the zoo’s conservation work as a member or a donor.
Niabi Zoo holds fun seasonal events such as Easter and Boo at the Zoo.

Nahant Marsh Education Center was founded in 1999. The Nahant Marsh area previously held The Quad Cities Trap and Skeet Club. In 1994, lead contamination from the pellets was found in the marsh. This led to an extensive cleanup, and Nahant Marsh Education Center was founded to protect the area.
Eastern Iowa Community Colleges leads the education programs at Nahant Marsh Education Center. The marsh is frequented by 140 species of birds and contains over 200 different species of plants.
